If you regulary intend to make or receive calls, you can purchase a PREPAID GSM SIM CARD. TIM (GSM 1800), VIVO (GSM 850),
Amazonia Cellular (GSM 900/1800) and OI (GSM 900/1800). Check the GSM frequency supported by your mobile phone.
Calls to mobile numbers in Brasil are still expensive, up to R$ 1,40 per minute. However, operators do have promotions
for calls with prepaid phones within their own network:
TIM: TIM a 10 promotion: For each credit of
R$ 10.- or more you receive ten times
bonus for local calls to fixed and TIM
line (e.g. load 10 credit and get 100

VIVO: VIVO 1000 - For loading 50R$ credits,

calls to
VIVO and fixed network. Other plans
